Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sweet cream unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 16 oz white frosting
- 5 drops neon green gel food coloring
- M&M candies, orange, green, and purple
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to the temperature specified by your recipe and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and packed brown sugar until creamy and well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until evenly incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a cohesive chocolate cookie dough forms.
- Scoop the dough into portions and arrange them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between the cookies.
- Bake according to the recipe’s specified temperature and baking time, watching carefully toward the end.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool completely.
- Stir the white frosting with 5 drops of neon green gel food coloring until evenly colored.
- Spread the neon green frosting over the cooled cookies.
- Decorate with orange, green, and purple M&M candies while the frosting is still soft enough for the candies to stick.
Notes
- Use softened butter rather than melted butter for the cookie dough.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before frosting so the neon green frosting stays in place.
- Add the M&M candies while the frosting is still soft so they adhere securely.
