Description

These Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars combine chewy rolled oats and creamy peanut butter with a smooth chocolate peanut butter topping for an easy no-bake treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanut Butter Oat Mixture

  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons natural creamy peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup agave syrup or pure maple syrup (honey can be used, but it won’t be vegan)
  • 1 & 1/3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (can use gluten free; can also use quick oats)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Topping

  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (use dairy-free chocolate chips if you want a vegan version)
  • ⅓ cup natural creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peanut Butter Oat Mixture: Combine the natural creamy peanut butter and agave syrup or pure maple syrup until smooth. Add the old-fashioned rolled oats and stir thoroughly until the oats are evenly coated and the mixture is cohesive.
  2. Press the Oat Mixture Into the Pan: Transfer the peanut butter oat mixture to a prepared pan or container. Press it firmly into an even layer and smooth the surface.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate Peanut Butter Topping: Place the chocolate chips and natural creamy peanut butter together in a suitable heat-safe bowl. Warm them using an appropriate gentle melting method, stirring as needed, until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Spread the Chocolate Layer Over the Oats: Spoon the chocolate peanut butter mixture over the pressed oat base. Spread it evenly across the surface. Allow the topping to set before slicing.

Notes

  • Use agave syrup or pure maple syrup and dairy-free chocolate chips for a vegan version.
  • Gluten-free rolled oats can be used if needed, while quick oats can be substituted for a softer, more compact texture.
  • Let the chocolate peanut butter topping fully set before slicing for cleaner bars.
