For the Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For Serving
- 12 corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- ½ medium red onion, chopped
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges
- ½ cup grated Cotija cheese (optional)
- 1 finely chopped jalapeño (optional)
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and salt.
- Coat the cod in the marinade and let sit for 15–20 minutes.
- Whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Prepare the cabbage, onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and cheese.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the fish for 3–4 minutes per side until flaky.
- Break the fish into bite-sized pieces.
- Warm the tortillas.
- Fill each tortilla with cabbage, fish, onion, cilantro, cheese, and jalapeño.
- Drizzle with sauce and serve with fresh lime wedges.
Notes
- Don’t overcook the fish; it should flake easily while remaining moist.
- Warm the tortillas before assembling to keep them soft and flexible.
- Make the sauce ahead of time for even better flavor.
