Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh salmon, cut into 4 pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Flour, for dredging
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
Instructions
- Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then lightly dredge each piece in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the salmon for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and almost cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the chicken broth or white wine. Scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in the lemon juice and Dijon mustard until combined.
- Add the heavy cream and simmer gently for 4–6 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in the chopped fresh dill.
- Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the fillets. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the salmon is fully cooked.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes and garnish with extra dill or lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- Pat the salmon dry before cooking to achieve a beautiful golden crust.
